instagram favorites

April 22, 2013

I may keep Twitter at an arm’s-length distance, but I’ve always been unabashedly in love with Instagram. Yes, it turns anyone and everyone into a photographer, but I can’t deny how wonderful it is to connect and share beautiful images and get behind-the-scenes glimpses at the lives of some of my favorite people.

Today I’ve combed through the 167 friends, celebrities, designers, bloggers and travelers I follow to share with you my four favorites.

Self-proclaimed “web enthusiast” Katrina Tam is the brains behind @puglypixel (first photo). Her site, also named Pugly Pixel, is a source of amazing (and free!) tutorials on CSS, HTML, photography and styling, while her Instagram focuses on the simple pleasures of domestic life, and of course that means dogs. Canines on Instagram are a dime a dozen, but Katrina finds more interesting compositions than the average app user.

Joy Deangdeelert Cho (@ohjoystudio) is the blogger and graphic designer behind the wildly popular Oh Joy Studio. She has a knack for capturing girly, colorful moments (check out those rainbow pancakes) and is never shy about sharing pictures of her too-cute daughter, Ruby.

Madewell has its own Instagram account, but I think Alex Yeske’s Instagram (@anyeske) is much more true to the brand’s aesthetic, which makes sense as she’s Madewell’s in-house graphic designer. If you like camel leather hues, vintage finds, artfully arranged vacation gear and crisp, muted neutrals, then you’ll love this one. She also blogs over at Dreams + Jeans.

Jessie Webster is the L.A.-based photographer and blogger behind @sweetthingblog. Her Insta-vignettes are among my favorites. She takes simple objects and pairs them with beautiful composition and lighting to yield bookmark-worthy images.

And while you’re at it, check me out on Instagram @archanapram. Happy Monday!
