I’m a 30-year-old writer and former East Coaster, and all it took was a mere three days in 2010 for me to fall in love with San Diego—the sea salt air, the laid-back pace, the Mexican food—my god, the Mexican food! So after four years in New York City and a 13-month ’round-the-world trip with my boyfriend, we’re now excited to call San Diego home with our very sweet and mischievous golden retriever, Teddy.
By day I’m a staff writer at San Diego Magazine but also freelance for Travel + Leisure, Conde Nast Traveler, Sunset, Cosmopolitan, Details, Angeleno, and other outlets, and I’ve appeared on the Today show, CBS Early Show, Good Day New York, ABC radio, and NBC7 San Diego.
I dedicate the rest of my time to exploring Southern California and all it has to offer—from road trips and fresh produce to surf culture and flea markets. My SoCal’d Life is part travel diary, part food diary, and part personal memoir. It’s my way of getting to know the lay of the land, documenting the best in food/outdoors/style/culture —and telling you all about it.
I’m open to sponsorships, collaborations, and other opportunities. To get in touch, you can reach me at archana{swirly a}mysocaldlife.com.
