happy one year, my SoCal’d life + a foodie giveaway! (closed)

January 13, 2014

In my very first post on this blog I mentioned that I once had a food blog, then I had a travel blog and then I started this blog. (I failed to mention that in high school I also had a movie blog back before blog was a word.) Each holds a special place in my heart, but this is the blog that feels most true to me. It’s my sanctuary of all things happy, exciting, sad, scary, insecure, delicious, adventurous, beautiful and canine-related. Me in a nutshell, I guess. It’s also helped me through my first shaky year of freelance by giving me routine and an opportunity to put something out there that’s all mine. And to have people read and care? That’s pretty awesome.

So on this day, my one year blog-aversary, I’m running my first giveaway! One lucky winner will get two prizes, both of which represent my love for food and San Diego’s small business scene. Read on for details about the prizes:

the-cravory-san-diego

The Cravory’s Classics cookie mix (2 dozen): I’ve had a lot of incredible desserts in my life — with more than a dozen cavities and two root canals to prove it — so I can say with authority that the cookies from this San Diego-based company are truly the best I’ve ever tasted. The box includes two dozen of my favorite flavors, including birthday cake and red velvet. (retail value: $59)

Odd Daughter Paper Co.’s “Eat These Things” letterpress print: You may remember Odd Daughter Paper Co.‘s Katie Hart from my Friday rituals series. I’m giving away her clever, hand-drawn letterpress print, which highlights seven different vegetables and some of their health benefits. It’s the perfect guide to start healthy this new year, and the cookies? They’re the perfect way to keep things balanced because what’s life without great treats? (retail value: $16)

HOW TO ENTER: Leave a comment below and tell me which signature Cravory flavor you’d want to try.

HOW TO EARN ADDITIONAL ENTRIES:
1. Like my Facebook page.
2. Follow me on Twitter.
3. Follow me on Instagram.
4. Follow me on Pinterest.
(If you already follow me on any of these channels, just let me know in your comment.)

Entries will be accepted until this Friday, January 17, midnight PST. I’ll select a winner at random and announce the lucky girl or guy on Monday, January 20. This giveaway is open to U.S. residents only. (The giveaway has ended.)

Thanks for being such rad readers. Looking forward to another wonderful year!

Congratulations on the blog’s first year anni!

I’ve always want to try The Cravory’s Chocolate Truffle cookie. When it comes to chocolate, dense equals delicious. That sucker looks like it fits the bill.

(P.S. Following you on FB, Twitter and Pinterest.)

OMG They all look amazing, but I would love to try the Pancake & Bacon cookies– I’ve never had bacon on a cookie :) But really, who am I kidding, I’d eat them all!

PS Congrats on making the move to San Diego ;) I was born and raised here but I enjoy watching you explore– sometimes you find a gem I’ve never been to!

I’m a Facebook fan and Pintrest follower too!

Oh girl. You gonna make me dust off the cobwebs on my Pinterest account? But Imma play anyway.

As the most boring person here, I’m going to choose the Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies, because you simply cannot go wrong with chocolate chip.

I already follow you on Facebook, the Gram, and Twitter, and because I love you so much, I’ll follow you on Pinterest too, even though I have strong feelings against that platform.

    Congratulations on your blogiversary!!

I’ve so enjoyed your blog this past year, Archana! It’s a really joy-filled spot on this giant map of the internet, and each time I visit I’m impressed with your creative passion. Happy 1st birthday :) Keep on doing what you love.

I’m majorly digging those lemon bar cookies…

Also, the beautiful letterpress makes me wish I’d managed to squeeze that letterpress class into my schedule my junior year at university. Sigh.

Love following you on Pinterest, Instagram, FB, and Twitter <3

Happy one year! Even though I’ve only been around for the second half, it really seems like it’s flown by (at least to me). I’ve loved having the opportunity to learn more about San Diego through your experiences. And as for The Cravory cookies, there could not be a better way to celebrate your anniversary since they really are the best cookies on the planet. Birthday cake and lemon bar are my faves!
    Congrats again!
