A look at the (birthday!) weekend that was…
A 30th birthday dinner at Cucina Urbana. It was my first time at the Bankers Hill Italian restaurant, and I loved it! Along with the burrata vasi (a cheese and bread appetizer platter), the mushroom pizza and mushroom pasta were my favorites. In true Tracy Borkum style, the restaurant is beautifully decorated and makes for an excellent special-occasion dinner. For my birthday sweet, Eaman surprised me with passionfruit cakes from Azucar bakery in OB, my favorite dessert spot in the city.
Hiking Torrey Pines with two girlfriends visiting from NYC. I had to get them their vitamin D after the brutal East Coast winter.
Lunch at Trilogy Sanctuary‘s rooftop vegan cafe in La Jolla.
Call it a SoCal cliche, but I had to start the first morning of my 30s doing yoga. It always sets the best tone.
My sweet girlfriend, Chantal, surprised me with Golden Donut donuts and Dark Horse coffee.
I always take my visitors to Pigment, the best gift and decor shop in all the land. (“Are succulents a San Diego thing?” my NYC friend asked. Ha! An understatement.)
My girlfriend and I at Kate Sessions Park in Pacific Beach. We went to college together and have had so, so many adventures together—in Chicago, New York, Miami, L.A., London, Barcelona, etc. I was so excited to celebrate this new decade with her, especially since she also just turned 30. Aries power!
Loving this entire post/weekend. That yoga studio is gorgeous! Happy belated bday!
